Here it is, finally: See file CWSPEED.DOC.
For the sake of completeness, I've included the executable file CW
(keyboard-emulation program) and its documentation, available free
as shareware and from its author Dave Freese, W1HKJ. Dave has custom
modified this version of CW for me to send large ASCII files (buffers
are 8K bytes).
I need the large buffers to avoid a slight pause in execution when a
buffer needs to be refilled with text. I send high-speed code practice
on 7.022 MHz Monday and Thursday evenings at 8:00 Eastern time.
I'll probably QSY to 10.122 MHZ on April 18 to avoid the heavy 40-meter
QRN during the warmer months.
The plain-vanilla version of CW had smaller buffers. I make a huge ASCII
file of the entire hour's worth of high-speed practice at speeds beginning
at 30 wpm and going through 50 wpm. Then I push the PF7 key once and the
whole thing gets transmitted.
Good luck and 73,
Ted Herrman, AE8G
